As per Vastu it is important to place septic tank at the right place and in right direction at home. In older days Septic tank did not play a vital role. However, nowadays septic tank gained more importance in individual houses and apartments. The concept of placing a septic tank in a house came a few decades back. As per Vastu Septic tank should be made with utmost care. One should take special care while constructing the septic tank. A wrong direction or construction can lead to various problems to the occupants. As per Vastu Shastra it is the pit which is to be dug in the ground with more caution and any imperfection can lead to negativity in the house and can make the environment polluted. There are some basic rules regarding the construction and proper direction of septic tank in house or apartment. They are as follows:  

• The best direction to place the Septic tank is North-West direction.
• As per Vastu Shastra, the Septic tank should never be placed in the South East corner nor south west corner of the house or the compound as it can bring in adverse effects. It should be placed in such a way that neither it should face towards South East nor South west corner as far as possible. It should also not be in North east corner. In case the septic tank is placed in these directions then it is advised to change the direction to North-west direction as early as possible.
• The Septic tank should never touch the corner wall or the main wall of the house i.e the compound. Always keep in mind to keep at least 1 feet or 2 feet distance between the wall and the Septic tank.
• According to Vastu Shastra segregate the Septic tank in such a way that the flow of water should be in the eastern direction and the excretion waste should go in the western direction.
• Vastu says that it is better to construct the septic tank always to the ground level.

  Vastu tips for Septic Tank

  It is advised to keep in mind the drainage system. The drainage pipes in toilet and bathroom should have their drainage passage in the West or North-west direction only. While kitchen pipes should have their passage in the East or North direction. However it is advised not to place pipes in the South direction in any condition as it may produce negative effects. In case if there is any outlet which is in South direction then it is advised to divert the outlet to east or north direction.

• The main sewage should be located in North, East or West direction for good results. However, it should not be located in South direction.
• According to Vastu Shastra the Septic tank should not be higher than the plinth level of the house or the apartment. It is advised to construct it at ground level.
• If you are staying in an apartment or in an upper storied building then it is advised to keep the drainage pipe in West or North-west direction. The pipe should not be placed in the southwest corner. In case you have the drainage pipe in the same direction then make sure that it does not lick at any cost.
• It is advised to keep the length of the septic tank towards east West direction while the breath towards South north direction.
