Bathrooms are a place where you spend at least some time of your day on a regular basis. Bathrooms are made in a variety of sizes. Some bigger designs of bathrooms are equipped with Jacuzzi and expensive showers and have an independent entertainment system and special displays whereas smaller bathrooms may cater to more basic needs. Whatever may be the size of the bathroom, there are small things that can make a large bathroom look wonderful and add to the overall décor of the place. If the space of the Bathroom is large, there is a higher scope for decorating the bathroom space. Some of the things that can be done to decorate large Bathroom Spaces are as under
- Color: It is important to have a color scheme for your bathroom. For larger spaces, one can opt for slightly darker shades as well. A blend of color can also be used like a mix of bold blue or green with white. Natural color can be selected for the furniture and accessories in the bathroom as the natural wood color blends well with bold colors as well as white. If white is the color of the walls, than dark colored wood paint can also be used for furniture.
- Sanitary fittings: Sanitary fittings are available in a variety of color and designs. The design should first be selected based on the comfort level. The fitting should be positioned in such a fashion that the maximum space is left free. In a large bathroom one has the advantage of using Jacuzzi and bathtubs that are of a bigger size than the ones normally used. Once the design is finalized, the color should be selected in such a way that the color is in contrast with the wall against which it is placed. If the wall is of a light shade, dark color fittings may be used and vice versa.
- CP bathroom fittings: Fixtures like faucets, showers, tubes etc are known as CP bathroom fittings. It is advisable to have the best quality CP fittings for the bathroom. A number of designer alternatives are available in the market.
- Accessories: There are a lot of items that are required in a bathroom like paper towels, napkins, paper rolls, toilet brush etc. To decorate the bathroom, it is important to have the right accessory in place. There is a large variety of products available in the market that can be used in the bathroom space. It is important to select the items whose color blends with the color of the walls or wooden furniture in the room. For example, if blue color is used in the walls, blue napkins can be purchased. Avoid cluttering the bathroom with unnecessary accessories that will never be used.
- Furniture: Apart from the basic bathroom fittings, it is a good idea to have some sitting in a large bathroom in front of the dresser. Wooden furniture should be used only when it can be kept in a place that is away from direct flow of water.
- Use Divider: If you have a large bathroom, you can use a divider to separate bath from other areas of the bathroom. Many different types of dividers are available in the market to choose from.
- Lighting: The bathroom should be adequately lit. It is possible that one source of lighting may not be sufficient to provide enough light to a large bathroom. Multiple lights can be used. You can use beautiful fixtures and lamps for lights. They add to the décor of the bathroom.
- Artifacts: Depending on your taste, you can select an artifact for your bathroom. It can be a large vase or a painting or wooden or metallic idol. Remember to select an artifact that has contrasting color to that of the wall against which it is being used. Do not cluster your bathroom with too many embellishments. You can also place plants in the bathroom to give a fresh look to the bathroom.
- Ventilation: The bathroom should be ventilated well so that it remains fresh. Use of exhaust fans is advisable.
- Scent: It is important for the bathroom to smell good. Perfumes and scents can be used to give a good smell to the room. Flowers are also a good option for large bathrooms but difficult to maintain. It is however advisable to always keep a perfume spray ready in the bathroom.
